Shaft Speed Sensor Overview
Electro-Sensors offers many shaft speed sensors for virtually any environment. Our Hall-Effect and Magnetoresistive Sensors sense magnetic targets and work with our magnetic pulsers (Discs, Wraps, and Wheels). Our proximity sensors sense ferrous metal targets, including bolt-heads, screws, gearteeth and keyslots. Our speed sensors monitor shaft speed of equipment and output data as PNP, NPN, or 4-20 mA signals. The sensor data can be used by facilities to monitor machinery and safeguard equipment. Monitoring shaft speed is a fundamental aspect of hazard monitoring and should be utilized by any facility with rotating shafts.
Products
SPDT output relay and 4-20 mA output speed sensor and speed switch, housed in a explosion proof and NEMA 4X enclosure. Relay can be set for overspeed or underspeed. 24 VDC.
Hall Effect digital speed sensors powered by 5-24 VDC, provide NPN open collector output, have a 1-inch NPT conduit port, and are compatible with a PLC digital I/O. 907 XP (Explosion Proof) sensors are used in applications requiring hazardous location ratings, or in applications where the sensor may be subject to abuse. Bi-Directional models are available (907B XP)
Hall Effect digital speed sensors powered by 5-24 VDC, provide NPN open collector output, compatible with a PLC digital I/O. Aluminum, Stainless Steel, and PVC body types, high-temperature cable, and Quadrature options.
Hall Effect and Magnetoresistive sensors, single channel or bi-directional signaling, NPN and PNP transistor outputs, available with four housing options. FM Approved Intrinsically Safe
The ST420-LT and ST420-DI are 2-wire, loop-powered, 4-20 mA analog output shaft speed sensors in rugged stainless steel M18x1 housings with integral conduit attachments; FM Approved Dust-Ignition-Proof for Class II Division I hazardous locations.
The ST420 is a 2-wire, loop-powered, 4-20 mA analog output shaft speed sensor in a rugged stainless steel M18x1 housing; UL Listed Intrinsically Safe (IS) for Class I Division I and Class II Division I hazardous locations.
The stainless steel Hall Effect sensor provides a square-wave pulse frequency output, NPN open-collector. It is 5-24 VDC powered with zero speed operation and no signal loss. These Hall Effect sensors work with Electro-Sensors Pulser Discs and Split Collar Pulser Wraps.
Magnetoresistive speed sensors powered by 5-24 VDC with an NPN open collector output. Stainless steel, aluminum, and explosion proof models.
Proximity sensors are active digital sensing devices with full NPN output signal down to zero Hz. Outputs are CMOS compatible. Available in a wide range of voltages. Metal housing is corrosion-resistant.
The HE950 Gear Tooth Sensor by Electro-Sensors monitors gear teeth and other ferrous metal targets. Protect your facility with the HE950 and ensure proper operation and maintenance, prevent unexpected equipment failure and minimize downtime.
The explosion proof 931 XP Hall Effect sensor provides a square-wave pulse frequency output, NPN open-collector. It is 5-24 VDC powered with zero speed operation and no signal loss. The differentiating features between the 931 XP and the 907 XP are that the 931 XP has slightly smaller body and 1/2 inch NPT conduit port. These Hall Effect sensors work with Electro-Sensors Pulser Discs and Split Collar Pulser Wraps.
Model 916A and 917A Passive Analog Sensors are designed for use with pulse generators that provide magnetic targets, such as Pulser Discs and Split Collar Pulser Wraps.
